Letters from the Headteacher

    Dear parents and carers

Exams are finally underway, and I wanted to say a huge well done to all those within our community who have work hard and prepped for success in the summer exam series. Early indications were that psychology, drama and German students got off to a flying start!

Thank you to all students, staff and parents who supported the community yesterday for the funeral of our Year 8 student Phoebe Schultz. Out of such a tragic event, it is important to recognise the inherent kindness and resilience of our students and staff to support each other. A specific thank you to Phoebe’s form group and friends who formed a guard of honour for her cortege and to Mr Rees who read a beautiful tribute to Phoebe during the service. I appreciate that yesterday may have stirred some feelings for students where they may need some adult support. If this is the case and you feel your child may need some additional support, please do contact their head of year or email [email protected]

    Support Required for Our Neighbours

Once again, I have been asked to remind staff, parents, and students to be mindful of parking on our neighbouring roads. All students driving to school should park on the school site and not on neighbouring roads and if I could remind all families collecting students at the end of the day park considerately and not across drives. Thank you in advance for your consideration with respect to this.

Year 8 Take Your Child to Work Day

For parents of Year 8 students, please see the attached letter here from Mr Rees. This has already been sent out but if those families who are yet to respond could do so this will help immeasurably with planning for this event. Historically, this event, a key part of our careers education at Wollaston has had a great impact on all students who have participated. Any issues with any of the plans do email Mr Rees.
