Wollaston 4 – 9 Huxlow

These fantastic results highlight the players’ dedication and effort during training, which is paying off on the court. Both teams now sit comfortably at the top of their league tables, with the Year 9 team remaining unbeaten. Congratulations to both teams on their excellent performances!

The Year 13 OCR sport group organised a trip to Northampton Saints at Franklin Gardens to watch the home Premiership rugby game against Sale Sharks. As part of their coursework the pupils had to sort out tickets, transport, promoting and marketing the trip to rest of the Sixth form. The trip involved Mr Roberts and Mr Braham- Nicol together with 13 students taking the school minibus at 6.30pm from Wollaston School, to the Franklin Gardens in Northampton. The game was exciting from the start with Northampton Saints taking an early lead that Sale was never able to eat into Northampton lead. The trip was hampered by road closures and road works which made for a long evening with students not getting back to Wollaston until 11pm.

Primary School Year 5&6 Football tournament

The Wollaston sports leaders organised a Years 5 & 6 football tournament for local primary school. The leaders refereed the game and help coach some of the teams, organising warm ups and football drills. There were 9 teams from 6 local primary schools. The teams were organised into two pools with the winner of each pool playing off in the final. The teacher from Grendon primary commented on how good the sports leaders at refereeing and how supportive they were with the younger students. The sports leaders presented gave each teacher a set of certificates for the students.

Best wishes

Mr Bennett & the PE team
