Fixture Results
The under 16 boys football team travelled to their away match at the Robert Smyth Academy on Wednesday. They arrived early and ready for a good warm up in preparation for the start of the match. The boys started slowly in the game as the opposition scored a long-range goal. The boys from the Wollaston team worked even harder and clawed back a response to level relatively quickly and then extended this by two goals which took the score to 3-1 Wollaston at the end of the half. A pleasant finish by Jarron was the highlight of the first half as it involved some slick passing and great demonstrations of through balls to secure a tidy result. During the second half the Wollaston boys had to play into the sun and against a slope. The opposition scored a scrappy goal which put the game at 3-2. It was a nervous 10 minutes at the end of the match with a couple of free kicks and opportunities for the home team to score. However, the Wollaston players stuck together and followed their task which resulted in the team winning the game. The fourth-round fixture has not been drawn or decided yet, but we look forward in anticipation for a further game and knockout fixture. Well done team Wollaston!
On Wednesday we took 45 students to Croyland park for the annual cross country. A cold and crisp day in the sun ended with a set of outstanding results from Wollaston school.
