Dear Parents and Carers
We have had an amazing final week of term with some significant moments within our community that have been exceptionally enjoyable and memorable and have shown the very best of our students (and staff!).
Monday saw a really fun social event for Year 9, thank you to Mrs Caddle-Amoah for organising this and to the other staff who supported the event – Mrs Caddle-Amoah has remarked: ‘What a fun-filled night some of our Yr9’s had at their first secondary school dance. Everyone had an amazing time and are looking forward to a similar event in the future.’
On Wednesday, we hosted our traditional Christmas lunch for retried members of our community. This event was really well attended, and feedback has been glowing about how amazing our students are. The event was about six weeks in the planning and big thank yous go to our staff who organised and delivered such a wonderful event, in particular Ms. Walker, Mrs Thomson, Mrs Worger, Mrs Best and of course to our wonderful performing arts team who organised music, dance and drama to keep our visitors entertained. Students also cooked a most magnificent spread of Christmas delights, and our ambassadors waited on tables to ensure our guests were well served. All students involved were a credit to the school and managed to experience and be a part of a great community event that I am sure will live in their memory!
Our students also surpassed themselves in creating an amazing village of Christmas hampers that have been delivered to the local food bank to support those in need of support this Christmas. Thank you to all families who have supported this initiative by providing food to fill the hampers.
Yesterday also saw our Year 7 visit the Old Savoy theatre in Northampton to see the pantomime ‘Peter Pan’ which starred one of our own Year 7s who was amazing in her performance and thrilled her friends to see! It was no mean feat to get over 200 Year 7 organised so thanks to Mr Jackson for making that possible. Another memory made for Year 7! Today we have had Christmas jumper day and have seen some great jumpers which have complemented the festive musical performances that have happened in the main hall during period 4 for Year 8 and during the lunchtime for all students which has helped everyone to get in the Christmas spirit. Thank you to Mr Rees for organising this and the Year 11 band for supporting him on drums and guitar.
