Dear parents and carers
We are looking forward to our final few weeks of what has been a great term. We are really keen to end the calendar year on a high so parental support with ensuring uniform stays sharp and students are one time and ready to learn each day is always appreciated!
We have been fortunate with the weather in the main, especially since we are still mid build on our performing arts renovation which is due to be completed by the end of January which will be an exciting development for the school and also provide additional seating and another food outlet for student use during break and lunchtimes. Please also look out for an email from Deputy Head, Mr Matthews, with some Arbor updates that amongst other things again give some guidance for students on logging in and how to reset forgotten passwords.
Assistant Headteacher, Anita Walker, is also busy alongside our amazing food technology department preparing for the Wollaston Christmas Party for our Retired Members of the Community. There are still some tickets left so if you are retired or have a retired relative/friend that fancies a good Christmas lunch with brilliant entertainment by Wollaston students (ably assisted with some of our primary students) and a bit of Christmas bingo then do encourage them to get a ticket which are available through our reception.
Drama Update
Head of Drama, Mrs Paltridge writes ‘On Wednesday 27th November, the Foundation Theatre Company presented ‘An Evening of Shakespeare’ in the New Performing Arts Studio. The pupils were outstanding in their delivery of the Shakespearian language and filled the studio with laughter and magical performances.
Supported by their 6th form directors, the year 7 and 8 theatre company were truly committed to making the evening a joyous and memorable event for all who attended.
We hope to see all members of the Foundation Theatre Company at the upcoming auditions for the 2025 musical ‘The Addams Family’
