Results
Wollaston Year 9 boys were in action in the District league and were against Weavers School.
The game started well, and the first half finished with Weavers in front by 2 goals to 1. This was a great opportunity for Wollaston as they turned around after the break with the wind and the slight slope in the second half. Some excellent and strong work from Blake and Riley meant that Wollaston were on the attack throughout the first 15 minutes and were so close to levelling the game and really putting Weavers under pressure. Weavers eventually made a couple of good chances and unfortunately managed to sneak the ball into the far corner and made the game 3-1. Wollaston were put under more pressure and just couldn’t get the bounce or chance to get the ball over the Weavers line. The game finished 4-1 and was not a true reflection of the effort that the Wollaston players put in. The Year 9 Boys have a National Cup fixture against Northampton School and we look forward to a better outcome in this game.
The Year 7 and Year 8 girls faced off in a friendly football match on the new 4G pitch. Both teams showed great effort and teamwork throughout the game.
Year 8 started strong and managed to score three goals with some confident attacking play. Year 7 responded well, working together and scoring two goals of their own. It was a close and exciting match, with both sides showing real determination.
Final Score
Year 8 Girls 3 – 2 Year 7 Girls
