Year 13 OCR sport group hosted a basketball festival for Wollaston Primary this week. 16 students from Years five and six at Wollaston Primary School attended the coaching session organised by Abbi H and Charlie H. Six home students were organising the primary school festival as part of their’ coursework. The festival involved 45 minutes of coaching and finished with a 4-team tournament for the final 45 minutes. Supporting the sixth form students were 6 sports leaders who had volunteered to coach and referee the basketball matches. The students from Wollaston Primary School said they really enjoyed the basketball skills coaching and the competition at the end of the festival. All the Wollaston primary students who attended were given a certificate from Mr. Robinson who will present it to them in their achievement assembly.

On Monday lunchtimes Mr. Roberts runs a club visually impaired students to come and play boccia and curling. The club is supported by sixth formers who are doing an enrichment as part of their course. There is also an indoor archery club for Year 7 students. The students learn to fire arrows with suckers on at a plastic target that allows the arrows to stick. There are five students shooting 3 arrows at a time competing to see who can get the highest score.

    Thanks for a great week!
