    Dear Parents and Carers,

As we approach the final term of the academic year, Year 11 students are entering a crucial period with exams fast approaching. We are incredibly proud of the hard work they have put in so far and want to ensure they feel confident and supported in the lead-up to their assessments. Revision and intervention sessions are still running in a variety of ways including during tutor with for tutors, targeted intervention during tutor time and after school revision and intervention sessions. In addition to this we also have our alternative timetable created which Mr Matthews has recently shared with you. On there, you will be able to see when home study is an option to students as well as the lessons taking place during the day to support revision as time moves on.

We are incredibly proud of our Year 11 cohort. This half term we hosted our ‘Excellence tie evening’ where a staggering 85 students were awarded an excellence tie for their effort and commitment to our school values. Events like this are always a pleasure to host and it was fantastic to see such a great turn out. In addition to this, the entire cohort appears to have increased their level of focus towards the exams in recent weeks and there is a real sense of purpose about our Year 11 students at the moment which I am sure will drive them towards achieving the best they possibly can.

Below are some additional suggestions as to how you can help your child prepare effectively at home:

    • Establish a Routine: Encourage a regular study schedule that includes breaks and time for rest.
    • Create a Quiet Study Space: A calm, distraction-free area can significantly improve focus and productivity.
    • Use Revision Resources: Students have access to a variety of resources, including revision guides, past papers, and online platforms recommended by their teachers.
    • Promote Wellbeing: Ensure your child gets enough sleep, eats well, and takes time to relax. A healthy mind supports effective learning.
    • Offer Encouragement: Positive reinforcement and showing interest in their subjects can boost motivation and confidence.

If you have any questions or need further guidance, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with the Year 11 team or your child’s subject teachers, who will be happy to help.

Thank you for your continued support.
