Wollaston School 2024 / 2025 Prospectus
Who can apply for a secondary place at Wollaston?
The student should live in Northamptonshire. For the new in-take (September 2025) the student must have their 11th birthday between 1st September 2024 and 31st August 2025 (Year 6 in primary school).
What is the current published catchment area for Wollaston School?
Pupils who live in the designated villages of Bozeat, Brafield-on-the-Green, Castle Ashby, Chadstone, Cogenhoe, Denton, Earls Barton, Easton Maudit, Great Doddington, Great Houghton, Grendon, Irchester, Knuston, Little Houghton, Strixton, Wollaston, Yardley Hastings & Whiston. Please see the oversubscription admissions criteria published by the Northamptonshire County Council for further information/criteria.
If I do get a place for my son/daughter this year, how will that affect younger siblings in future years?
Due to the “sibling link” criteria, families with one child at the school are given priority for future children.
Is transport provided for students and especially those who live outside the catchment area for the school?
Free transport can be provided for some families who live within the catchment area of Wollaston School.
Students from other areas can apply for a concessionary bus pass which is only available if there is room on the buses after all Main School students have been allocated a seat. If this application is successful then the student will only have free transport from the nearest stop on the County bus route and for example a student living in Rushden would need to make their own way to the nearest stop in Irchester. Wollaston School is also served by a local company who provide a bus service from Rushden to Wollaston (and return) which is for exclusive use of our own students. However, there is a fee to be paid each way by the students using this service and the cost must be borne by the family.
Do you run a Waiting List?
As a Community School, the County Council’s School Admissions Team allocates the places at Wollaston School and keep a Waiting List which is renewed at the end of August every year.
